The advantages of the HiFri®

Fat reduction

Unlike traditional deep-frying, no extra fat is absorbed by the French fries and snacks, because no frying fat is used in the process of the HiFri®. The guidelines set by the ‘Voedingscentrum ’ (Dutch Food Centre) state that during the deep-frying process of potato products 12% of fat absorption takes place, and 10% with snacks.

Risks of deep-frying fat/oil

Desintegration of frying fat
Deep-frying with oil or fat requires a high level of craftsmanship. There are many causes for rapid frying fat disintegration. In that case the frying fat does not conform to the desired quality. By heating too quickly, overly high temperatures, improper filtering and excessive usage of the fat causes the fat to disintegrate which leads to undesired substances ending up in the French fries and snacks.

Fire safety 
In case that frying fat becomes too hot, spontaneous combustion can occur. The temperature at which this occurs depends on the quality of the frying fat. During the warm-up process of a traditional deep-frying unit with no or too little fat content, fire can simply occur.
 
Physical injury
By splattering of the frying fat, the fat can come in contact with the skin, which can cause burn wounds. In case frying fat is spilled on the floor, the slippery surface poses the risks of people slipping up.
 
Labour conditions
Because the HiFri® is a closed system, the operating staff is protected from dangerous situations that can occur with an open system. Because the basket of the HiFri® is automatically emptied, this is much safer than taking a heavy loaded basket from the fat manually. The changing and filtering of frying fat and the tedious cleaning process of the deep-fryer belongs to the past when you convert to using the HiFri®.

Operating ease

The HiFri® is completely operated by a computer which is controlled by the use of a touch screen. All programs are fully (pre)programmed so that the HiFri® automatically uses the correct settings for the different actions possible with the HiFri®.
Clear icons and explanatory texts make the HiFri® easy to operate for everybody.
 
From a “cold start”, the unit is warmed up to the right temperature within 10 minutes and is ready to use. 
 

Financial benefits

Energy
The energy usage of the HiFri® is considerably lower than regular deep-frying systems. This is mostly realized by the fact that it is a closed system and that air and steam are more easily and quickly warmed up than frying fat.
 
Deep-frying fat purchase/disposal
Since we do not use frying fat, it doesn’t need to be purchased or disposed of after usage anymore. This results in considerable savings on a yearly basis, by which you can earn back the purchasing price of the HiFri® very quickly.

Cleaning

In the HiFri® a cleaning system is integrated which is automatically controlled by the computer. There are two different programs for the cleaning process: normal and intensive. By these means the HiFri® is fully, quickly and safely cleaned internally. Built-in safety checks ensure proper removal of the cleanser so that the French fries and snacks do not come in contact with any cleanser.

Insurance
Due to the fact that the HiFri® is a closed system, you do not need to buy separate and more expensive fire insurance, which you do require with a traditional deep-fryer. Moreover, with the HiFri®, you are not obliged to take extra fire resistant precautions.

Labour hours

The changing and filtering of deep-frying fat belongs to the past, but also the cleaning process of the HiFri® is fully automated, so fewer labor hours are wasted. Unlike working with a traditional deep fryer, during which these activities are annoying and time consuming.
